V-Day Atlanta's 2007 Production
Thursday, April 5, 7:30pm
This production of the Vagina Monologues at the Tabernacle will feature Jane Fonda, Pearl Cleage, and Eve Ensler, along with local Atlanta actors. Special musical guest Doria Roberts will be opening, as well as the Atlanta Feminist Women's Chorus. Proceeds from this production will support:
1) V-Day worldwide campaign
2) Dear John (Mayor Franklin's campaign to end child sexual abuse)
3) Charis Circle
4) Men Stopping Violence

Young Women* Writers
Monday, April 9 & 23, 5:00-6:30pm
This group is open to all young women* writersyoung writers unite ages 15-19. Through faciliated writing prompts and supportive critique, participants are encouraged to raise their voices and express themselves through a variety of written mediums. Writers of all skill levels and genres are encouraged to stop in and see if the group works for them. This group meets the second and fourth Mondays of every month from 5-6:30pm. Writing with Intent
Monday, April 9, 7:00-8:30pm
This facilitated group is open to all writers of fiction and creative non-fiction who want a serious group to provide constructive criticism, motivational exercises, and interpersonal accountability to keep their writing on track. We will do monthly exercises and critiques with an eye towards individual improvement and the eventual goal of publication. Writers are encouraged to bring copies of their work to share for critique. Not In My Family: Craig Washington & Gil Robertson Talking about AIDS

Come dialogue with editor Gil Robertson and contributor/local writer-activist Craig Washington about the book Not In My Family: AIDS in the African American Community. A collection of essays that bares the fears, isolation and pain of living in the age of AIDS, this book makes direct contact with the human face of this horrible disease. Craig and Gil will read, answer questions, sign books, and dialogue with the audience about the heart-breaking and heart-warming content of their work.

Feminist Parenting Panel & Discussion
Saturday, April 21, 4:00-6:00pm
Please join Charis Circle board members and a distinguished group of panelists for a community-wide discussion on feminist parenting practices. Panelists include: Tina Pippin, Professor of Religious Studies at Agnes Scott College; Andrea Schrage, MA, LPC, CMT of Karuna Counseling; Dee McGraw, graduate student in Women's Studies at Emory University; and Marcia Lewis, midwife, single parent, and mother of 6. We encourage those who are interested to come participate in the discussion, as we share ideas and resources and strengthen ties among feminist communities. Free child care will be provided. This event will take place at the Ponce de Leon Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library, 980 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE.

Head Over Heels: Virginia Erhardt

Please join Virginia Erhardt, Ph.D, a long-time Charis supporter and author of Head Over Heels: Wives Who Stay with Cross-dressers and Transsexuals. This book is a collection of candid, first-hand accounts of couples who stay together despite highly emotional gender issues. Head Over Heels gives voice to thirty women who are partners to crossdressers, transgenderists, and male-to-female transsexuals. Virginia is a psychologist and gender specialist practicing here in Atlanta. She will read selected passages from her book, then converse with the audience and sign books.
