The 6 Project: A Reading & Discussion with Chelsea Gregory

The 6 Project: A Reading & Discussion with Chelsea Gregory
Thursday, May 8, 7:30-9:00pm
In The 6 Project, performance poet/actress/activist/educator Chelsea Michel Gregory takes an unflinching look at the legacy of racism and white supremacy in the U.S. She takes us to Jena, Louisiana where 6 black high school students were railroaded through the criminal justice system in the well-known Jena 6 case. Rather than polarizing the issue, Chelsea's work creates a space to share the intensely personal stories that shape our experience of race, and invites us to reflect on our own role in the work of racial healing. Join Chelsea at Charis for a partial reading of "The 6 Project," followed by a discussion with the audience.
